Cambodian Minister Visits Border Forces, Delivers Aid to Troops on Thai Frontier
Cambodian Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, Thong Cheathda, visited troops stationed along the Cambodia-Thailand border in Preah Vihear province, delivering aid from Prime Minister Hun Manet. The initiative aims to support the soldiers' livelihoods and boost morale.
On the morning of Sunday, September 13, 2026, H.E. Thong Cheathda, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, led a delegation from the ministry, the Cambodian National Mekong River Committee, and the Tonle Sap Authority to visit and deliver valuable gifts from Samdech Techo Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his spouse, Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, to the officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers of the Preah Vihear Sub-Regional Military Operations Zone, under the command of Military Region 4, who are stationed along the Cambodia-Thailand border in Preah Vihear province. The gifts presented on this occasion included rice, instant noodles, salt, canned mackerel, fish sauce, soy sauce, chili sauce, drinking water, dried radishes, dried fish, mosquito repellent coils, mosquito repellent spray, coffee, and tarpaulins, as well as some financial support, responding to the daily living needs of the troops on the front lines. H.E. the Minister conveyed the heartfelt regards from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Techo Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to the commanders, deputy commanders, officers, non-commissioned officers, and all soldiers. He expressed deep admiration and gratitude for the heroic deeds, patriotic spirit, and unwavering dedication of the military in defending Cambodia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and protecting the nation and its people. H.E. the Minister stated that this visit to the troops not only brought aid and support to the frontline soldiers but also demonstrated unwavering solidarity and Khmer national unity under the leadership of the government. It serves as proof to the troops on the front lines that in the rear, ministry leaders, civil servants, and the Cambodian people are always there to provide encouragement and support in all aspects to the frontline forces.
