Cambodian Minister Visits Thai Border Troops, Delivers Aid and Encouragement
Cambodian Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, Sam Chektha, visited troops of the Preah Vihear Operational Area, Force Region 4, stationed along the Cambodia-Thailand border. He delivered aid and encouragement from the Prime Minister and his wife, aiming to boost morale and show national support.
On September 13, 2026, H.E. Thor Cheath, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, led a delegation from the Ministry, the National Mekong Committee of Cambodia, and the Tonle Sap Authority to visit and deliver valuable gifts from H.E. Dr. Hun Manyet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his wife, H.E. Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manyet, to the officers and soldiers of the Preah Vihear Operational Area, Force Region 4, who are stationed to defend the territory along the Cambodia-Thailand border in Preah Vihear Province. The donated items included rice, noodles, salt, canned mackerel, fish sauce, soy sauce, chili sauce, drinking water, dried fish, mosquito repellent coils, coffee, and tent rubber sheets, along with some financial contributions, responding to the living needs of the troops on the front lines. During the meeting, H.E. the Minister conveyed the heartfelt greetings and well wishes from H.E. Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and H.E. Samdech Dr. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to the commanders, deputy commanders, officers, and soldiers. He expressed deep admiration and profound gratitude for the heroism, patriotism, and sacrificial spirit of the army, demonstrating utmost determination in defending Cambodia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and protecting the nation and its people. H.E. the Minister emphasized that this visit not only brings aid and support to the front-line troops but also demonstrates unwavering solidarity and the unity of the Khmer nation under the leadership of the government. It serves as testimony to the troops on the front lines that in the rear, the ministry's leadership, civil servants, and the Cambodian people are always there to encourage and support the front-line forces in all aspects.
