Over 3,300 affected by flooding in Oriental Mindoro due to heavy rains

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — At least 3,388 individuals or 849 families have been affected by flooding and heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon (habagat) in Oriental Mindoro, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO). In its situation update as of 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, the PDRRMO said that several areas in the province experienced inundation, forcing residents to evacuate their homes. The PDRRMO is actively assessing the situation and coordinating relief efforts.
