Cambodia and Philippines Enhance Cooperation on ASEAN Observers
Cambodian Army Commander General Vong Pisen met with Philippine military Brigadier General Entero S. Nacis to strengthen bilateral military cooperation. Discussions focused on enhancing the effectiveness of ASEAN Observer Teams (AOT) in monitoring ceasefire agreements and reducing tensions.
Phnom Penh, September 15, 2026 -- General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, welcomed the visit of Brigadier General Entero S. Nacis, Deputy Inspector General of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. This meeting, held on September 15, 2026, aims to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries. General Vong Pisen expressed gratitude to the Government and Ministry of National Defense of the Philippines for assigning the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) to be stationed in Cambodia to help verify and monitor the implementation of ceasefire agreements more effectively. Concurrently, the Commander-in-Chief briefed Brigadier General Nacis, head of the delegation, on the actual situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border, enabling the delegation to understand the real situation in the border area. After receiving information and understanding the actual situation, Brigadier General Entero S. Nacis affirmed the continued monitoring of the work of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) and pledged to further enhance the efficiency of the AOT's duties to contribute to reducing tensions and effectively maintaining the implementation of ceasefire agreements.
