It has been reported that individuals involved in online gambling fraud were arrested along with weapons, ammunition, and business equipment near Narai Ywathit Village in Namhsan Township, Shan State (South). Troops of the Tatmadaw conducting regional security operations in Namhsan Township, Shan State (South), based on information that online gambling fraud was being operated, carried out necessary searches and investigations. As a result, around 2:30 PM on August 4, inside a building measuring 80 feet in length and 60 feet in width (brick construction, tin roof), which was used for online gambling fraud, located approximately 250 meters south of Narai Ywathit Village in Namhsan Township, 36 male and 2 female Chinese nationals, 7 male and 4 female Myanmar nationals, totaling 43 males and 6 females, who were illegally entered and operating online gambling fraud, were arrested along with one P-365 type pistol, two magazines, five 9mm bullets, one UZI type pistol, one magazine, nine .38 caliber bullets, two AK-47 assault rifles, two magazines, fifty 7.62mm bullets, and business equipment including 67 various mobile phones, four All-in-One computers, one CPU, and six Star Link sets. It is reported that necessary investigations are being carried out on the arrested individuals involved in these online gambling fraud operations, and upon completion of the investigations, they will be dealt with severely and effectively in accordance with existing laws. The seized business equipment will be processed according to procedures, and investigations will continue to identify and take action against those involved behind the scenes. It is understood that the country is continuing to carry out anti-online gambling fraud initiatives in cooperation with neighboring countries, regional countries, and international organizations to eradicate online gambling fraud and prevent its establishment within Myanmar.
