Vietnam-Russia Partnership Forges Ahead in Science, Technology, and Innovation

Vietnam and Russia are set to elevate their partnership, particularly in science, technology, and innovation, designating these fields as new drivers for their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This move aims to solidify cooperation and create a new pillar for bilateral relations in the 21st century. The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and AFK Sistema have agreed to foster cooperation in three priority strategic technology areas: green hydrogen, small satellites, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems. The value of these technologies is underscored in their capacity for early detection and scientific evidence-based policymaking, crucial for addressing complex global challenges like infectious diseases. Beyond Russia, Vietnam is actively pursuing deeper ties with France, Mongolia, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, and China across diplomatic, economic, defense, and cultural spheres. The Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is seen as pivotal in making both nations strategic bridges between ASEAN and the EU. In Mongolia, enhanced cooperation in education was proposed, aiming to further develop a school that serves as a vivid symbol of Vietnam-Mongolia friendship. Bilateral ties with Turkey have shown strong and substantive growth since diplomatic relations were established.
