At the invitation of Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, State Administration Council Chairman U Min Aung Hlaing will pay a state-level goodwill visit to Laos from July 3rd to 5th, accompanied by a high-level delegation. During the visit, the State Administration Council Chairman will hold discussions with the President of Laos, and also meet with the Prime Minister of Laos, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Laos, and receive the Governor of a State. Laos and Myanmar established diplomatic relations in 1955, and since then, have maintained friendly relations and cooperation in various sectors through bilateral, regional, and international frameworks. Currently, it has been 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and Myanmar. In 2026, a delegation led by Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Thongsaï Phomvihan, made an official visit to Myanmar from June 11th to June 13th.
