Cambodia Launches New Websites for Provincial Information Departments to Enhance Digital Dissemination

AKP Phnom Penh, September 21, 2026 -- The Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications officially launched here this morning the websites of the 25 capital and provincial Departments of Information to provide the public with official information in an effective, comprehensive and reliable manner. The launching ceremony was presided over by H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information, and H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications. Speaking at the ceremony held at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, H.E. Neth Pheaktra said the achievement was the result of strong commitment, close cooperation and joint efforts between the two ministries, driven by a common spirit, goal and direction to use digital technology to provide citizens with information that is faster, more comprehensive, more effective and more trustworthy. The Minister stressed that the launch was not merely the introduction of new websites for the 25 capital and provincial Departments of Information, but also marked an important milestone in the Ministry of Information’s digital transformation and the modernisation of Cambodia’s information and audiovisual sectors. “The achievement we are officially launching today did not happen by chance. It is the result of our joint efforts, continuous coordination and close cooperation between the two ministries,” H.E. Neth Pheaktra said. The Minister also highly valued and commended the technical teams and specialists from both ministries for their dedication, time, effort and expertise in designing, developing, testing and establishing the joint Government Content Management System (CMS). H.E. Neth Pheaktra emphasised that the initiative was not simply a technical undertaking, but represented the establishment of a foundation for transforming the way state information institutions produce, manage, distribute and disseminate information to the public. According to H.E. Neth Pheaktra, cooperation between the two ministries has established a shared information infrastructure based on compatible technological standards, more efficient management systems and a strong focus on digital security. The system will also contribute significantly to integrating information from sub-national administrations with the national level in a more coordinated, systematic and transparent manner, with clear and identifiable sources. “This is the establishment of a digital state information system that not only provides information, but also creates a new channel of communication between state institutions and the public,” he added. H.E. Neth Pheaktra noted that people are now living in an era in which information travels faster than ever, while digital technology has fundamentally changed the way people receive, seek and share information. To date, the 25 capital and provincial Departments of Information have produced and published a combined total of more than 14,000 news articles and digital content items on their respective websites, attracting more than 100,000 visitors in total.
