Cambodia Deports 162 Chinese Nationals for Online Scam Involvement

The General Department of Immigration has announced the deportation of 162 Chinese nationals who were involved in online scam cases (Online Scams). On July 19, 2026, following the high-level recommendations of His Excellency Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and the leadership of the Ministry of Interior, His Excellency Lieutenant General Sok Vathana, Director General of Immigration, instructed the Department of Investigation and Procedure to cooperate with the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia to continue deporting a total of 162 Chinese nationals, including 2 females, who were involved in online scam cases, lacked passports, and were illegally residing and working. They were deported through the Techo International Border Gate. The General Department of Immigration stated that the deportation of these foreign nationals is a strict legal measure implemented under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the firm guidance of His Excellency Dr. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. This effort aims to clean up and eradicate cybercrimes occurring within the Kingdom of Cambodia to ensure the safety of citizens both regionally and globally, without exception. This includes targeting masterminds behind these operations and rescuing victims who were deceived into working in these online scam activities, allowing them to regain their freedom and return to their home countries.
