Resort Wall Collapses in Mui Ne, Killing One Worker and Injuring Another

A resort wall in Mui Ne, Binh Thuan province, collapsed on the afternoon of August 8, resulting in the death of one worker and severe injuries to another. The incident occurred while a group of workers was excavating land to install a drainage system in front of the resort, as part of the project to repair and upgrade Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in Mui Ne ward. Around 1:45 PM, Mr. Duong Minh Ngoc, 50, a resident of Hoa Thang xã, along with a team of workers, was digging to install the drainage system. During the excavation, the resort wall, which was over 2 meters high and approximately 10 meters long, suddenly collapsed, trapping Mr. Ngoc and a fellow worker. Bystanders and other workers rushed to the scene, clearing the debris and transporting the two victims to the hospital for emergency treatment. However, Mr. Ngoc succumbed to his severe injuries. The other worker sustained a fractured leg and is currently receiving treatment at Binh Thuan General Hospital. Relevant authorities have arrived at the scene to examine the site and are investigating the cause of the accident.
