Vietnam is advancing a strategy to leverage its rich cultural heritage by integrating it with modern technology, aiming to harness it as a new engine for economic growth and enhanced international soft power. Vietnam is strengthening its strategy to boost national soft power and economic growth by integrating its rich cultural heritage with modern technological innovations. Cultural industries are positioned as a new driver of economic growth and a measure to enhance national branding, with particular expectations placed on the utilization of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). Recent initiatives include events like the "Hue Wonderverse Music Fest 2026," which aims to offer immersive experiences by combining Hue's cultural heritage with contemporary music, art, and cutting-edge performance technology. In Hanoi, the "Crescendo – Symphony of Connection" concert has blended classical music with the capital's vibrant atmosphere, bringing orchestral performances beyond traditional concert halls and closer to the public. Vietnam's culinary heritage is also gaining international recognition. It ranks 16th in the latest TasteAtlas rankings and has been described as "exceptional" by Travel + Leisure, positioning Vietnam as a leading destination for travelers seeking cultural experiences through food. Furthermore, Vietnam views the digitization of its folk culture, including oral literature, beliefs, customs, festivals, and art passed down through generations, as an urgent lever for national cultural development in the new era. Experts believe that coordinated reforms in institutions, technology, human resources, and infrastructure are essential for transforming cultural heritage into a powerful engine for innovation, economic growth, and national soft power. The implementation of Resolution No. 06 alongside the cultural diplomacy strategy sends a clear message: by combining its rich cultural heritage with proactive diplomacy, innovation, and digital transformation, Vietnam aims to strengthen its competitiveness on the global stage. Cultural heritage is recognized as an endogenous resource, a source of soft power, and a driving force underpinning sustainable development strategies. Information Source: VietnamPlus English
