New electricity meters for household, business and industrial use can be applied for via website starting August 15

Applications for new electricity meters, which are necessary for household, business, and industrial use, can be submitted via website starting August 15, the Ministry of Electricity and Energy announced on July 30. It is understood that in order to enable citizens who wish to use electricity but do not yet have a meter to quickly obtain and use new electricity meters required for household, business, and industrial purposes from the government, and to avoid involvement of intermediaries and staff, thereby saving time and costs, applications can be made to the head office through the website starting August 15, 2026. Only by continuously upgrading and maintaining the basic infrastructure related to electricity, which has been invested by the state from the start of electricity generation until it reaches the hands of the people, and by upgrading in accordance with changing technologies, can the people use electricity with full quality. It is understood that only the appropriate fees required for this will have to be paid. It is understood that when making such payments, only the officially prescribed fees will have to be paid online to the designated account, without any additional financial costs. Therefore, citizens who wish to install meters can apply by visiting www.moee.gov.mm, and if the application meets the specifications of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, meters will be installed as quickly as possible, the Ministry of Electricity and Energy announced.
