Cambodia Cracks Down on Gangs and Gamblers, Arresting 119 in Early September

The Ministry of Interior of Cambodia has continued its firm crackdown on juvenile delinquent groups and habitual gamblers, enforcing the law without exception. Over the first 10 days of September, authorities apprehended a total of 119 individuals, who were subsequently sent to court for legal proceedings. This figure shows an increase of 2 cases and 33 individuals compared to the same period in early August. According to the Ministry of Interior's report, among the cases cracked down upon, 22 cases were related to juvenile delinquency, with 103 individuals arrested and sent to court. This represents an increase of 19 individuals compared to early August. Meanwhile, regarding gambling-related cases, 4 cases were cracked down upon, resulting in the arrest of 16 individuals. Of these, 14 were sent to court, while the remaining 2 received guidance and recommendations, signing pledges to cease their activities.
