AKP Phnom Penh, September 8, 2026 -- The Preah Sihanouk provincial administration is actively constructing a new seaside promenade (Walk Street) stretching from the Techo Square in Sangkat 3 to O’Chheuteal Beach in Sihanoukville. This new pedestrian walkway is not merely a tourism urban development project aimed at enhancing aesthetics and attracting tourists and investors; it also embodies a continuation of Khmer artistic and construction heritage, reviving the legacy of the past and presenting it in a new form within modern society. The meticulous arrangement of the large natural stones, initiated by the provincial leadership, evokes the spirit of Khmer ancestors, who carefully transported, carved, and stacked stone blocks to construct magnificent temples. These historical structures have stood firmly for centuries and remain an enduring legacy for future generations to this day. The development of this coastal walkway comes as the Royal Government of Cambodia is actively promoting a special investment incentive programme from 2024 to 2027. The initiative aims to transform Preah Sihanouk province into a multi-purpose special economic zone and a hub for international investment, transport, and financial markets in the near future. By K.
