Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs Honors Regional Governments' Achievements in Kalimantan

The Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs will hold the Regional Kalimantan Regional Government Achievement Appreciation event in Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, on Thursday (3/9). This event is a form of appreciation for local governments that have successfully implemented a number of programs related to the basic needs of the community. The Institute of Domestic Governance (IPDN) has been appointed as the organizer for this event in the Kalimantan region. Rector of IPDN, Halilul Khairi, stated that there are four categories assessed in the Regional Government Achievement Appreciation. These four categories are: Implementation of the 3 million housing program, Access and quality of health services, Access to education services, and waste management and a green environment. In a previous Prime News CNN Indonesia program, Halilul stated that these four categories are very important. "Education is very important, health is very important, both are basic services. Then waste management is also very important for building a good civilization. Meanwhile, housing is one of the basic needs of clothing, food, and shelter," said Halilul. Halilul added that in addition to the basic needs of the community, these four aspects are also presidential priorities. Therefore, it is necessary to encourage their achievement by all regional governments in accordance with their respective authorities. He continued that the Ministry of Home Affairs is the supervisor and overseer of regional governments, so the success of regional governments is part of the Ministry of Home Affairs' responsibility. Here, he believes, is the strategic role of the Ministry of Home Affairs. "The Minister of Home Affairs does not only focus on supervision in the form of sanctions, but also wants the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide awards," he said. For this year, Halilul said that similar events are being held in six regional areas. IPDN received the task for the Kalimantan region. Similar events have already been held for the Java-Bali and Sumatra regions.
