It has been learned from reports coming from the Thai side that 26 undocumented Myanmar nationals were arrested by Thai authorities in Sangkhlaburi district, Kanchanaburi province, Thailand, within a four-day period. Around 9:30 PM on July 4th, Thai time, Thai security forces on patrol near the forest edge in Ban Sam Lang, Three Pagodas Pass area on the Thai side, discovered and arrested 15 undocumented Myanmar nationals, including 4 males and 11 females. Similarly, early in the morning of July 6th, Thai time, Thai police forces on patrol within Nong Lu village group discovered a suspicious group and upon investigation, found 11 undocumented Myanmar nationals, including 7 adults and 4 children, and arrested them. According to Thai news, the 26 undocumented Myanmar nationals, including 4 children, who were arrested by Thai authorities, entered Thailand from the Myanmar side of the Three Pagodas Pass area on the Myanmar-Thailand border through illegal routes and were unable to present any legal identification documents. It is reported by Thai news that these undocumented Myanmar nationals have been charged with "illegal entry and residence in Thailand without permission" and have been handed over to the investigation team by the Sangkhlaburi police station to proceed with legal action.
