Cambodia Launches Digital Public Services for Transportation Sector
Cambodia's Ministry of Public Works and Transport has officially launched automated systems for vehicle technical inspection renewals, digital invoices, and road permit applications. This initiative aims to enhance public service quality, convenience, and ensure transparent electronic payments.
On the morning of Thursday, September 3, 2026, His Excellency Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, presided over the official launch of new automated systems for requesting vehicle technical inspection (check-up) renewals through partner banks, digital invoice requests, and road permit applications. The ceremony was attended by Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, leaders of the Ministry, representatives from relevant institutions, partner banking and financial institutions, and numerous civil servants. The objective of this event was to officially launch three digital automated systems from the Ministry: the request for renewal of vehicle technical inspection (check-up) through partner banks, the MPWT Digital Invoice system, and the Road Certificate system. These systems aim to enhance the quality of public services provided by the Ministry by bringing services closer to the public, saving time, and offering convenience in using and paying service fees electronically with high transparency and security. These are further achievements demonstrating the Ministry's commitment to utilizing digital technology to promote, expand, and modernize the Ministry's public services, contributing to the implementation of the government's digital policy with a focus on citizens.
