Cambodia Launches Online Sub-District Data Management System to Boost Administrative Efficiency

The Cambodian government has officially launched the Sub-District (Commune-Sangkat) Data Management System, known as 'CDB Online,' to advance the digitalization of data management in local governance. This system was introduced alongside the 2025 Sub-District Basic Data Report. The official launch ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 9th, at the Ministry of Planning. Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Net Savoeun, representing the Prime Minister of Cambodia H.E. Dr. Hun Manet, presided over the event. The ceremony was attended by leaders from various ministries and institutions, governors of capitals and provinces, sub-national authorities, diplomats, development partners, and numerous relevant officials. H.E. Sut Rasmey, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, attended as a representative of H.E. Thao Chethda, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology. The deployment of CDB Online marks a significant strategic step in the digital transformation of basic data management at the sub-national level. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of development planning, resource allocation, and responsiveness to the actual needs of citizens in communes and sangkats nationwide, ensuring greater accuracy and timeliness. The digital platform is expected to improve the transparency and responsiveness of local administration, contributing to more effective policy formulation and service delivery.
