Cambodia Accelerates Digital Government Services, Enhancing Citizen Convenience Through Online Platforms

The Cambodian government is accelerating the promotion of a digital government, expanding online administrative services across ministries and institutions. This move allows citizens to save both time and money, enjoying faster administrative procedures. Mr. Yan Chamroeun, a citizen living in the digital era, emphasizes the need for every citizen to enhance their knowledge to become a resource for society, in line with the digital government's philosophy. He notes that online public services in various ministries and institutions are playing a crucial role in bringing significant convenience to citizens, aligning with the digital government's objectives. Several ministries and institutions that provide public services to citizens are continuously advancing modernization through digital systems. The aim is to enhance convenience by enabling citizens to apply for services online, rather than having to visit the offices of authorities, departments, or ministries in person. This mechanism is being implemented consistently to meet the needs and practical realities of citizens for various services, including administrative services, documentation, and the renewal of business licenses or validity periods, in response to their demands. Digitalization is one of the five key priority agendas of the 7th mandate government, led by Prime Minister Hun Manet. Under this mandate, the leadership has launched the "Pentagonal Strategy Phase 1," focusing on five main priorities: human, road, water, electricity, and technology.
