JAKARTA - PT Pos Indonesia continues to carry out a comprehensive transformation and improvement process after the new management reported audit results showing adjustments or corrections to the books worth Rp9 trillion for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 periods. This step is part of the effort to clean up and restore the company's financial records. The process of improving PT Pos Indonesia is one of the agendas that has received special attention from the State-Owned Enterprise Management Agency (BP) together with Danantara Indonesia. To oversee the transformation, the Head of the State-Owned Enterprise BP and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara Indonesia, Dony Oskaria, held a meeting with the President Director of PT Pos Indonesia, Iskandar Kunaefi, on Wednesday (23/7). The meeting discussed strategic steps to accelerate the company's transformation through governance improvements, strengthening financial conditions, to updating a more sustainable business model. Must Touch the Root of the Problem In his instructions, Dony Oskaria emphasized that the transformation carried out by PT Pos Indonesia should not be cosmetic or merely improve the company's appearance. According to him, the improvement must be carried out fundamentally so that it can strengthen the company's resilience in the long term. "The transformation we are doing here is not a half-hearted transformation. We don't want something artificial or polished. We are doing this process to make SOEs resilient in the future," said Dony as quoted from BP BUMN's official Instagram account. He emphasized that all improvement steps must be oriented towards strengthening the fundamentals of the business with clear, measurable, and periodically evaluable targets. "If the core business is still negative, there is no point. Focus first on making this positive and reducing costs. So every initiative must have a clear target, when it will be completed, and what the results will be. We will only control based on that," he said. Efficiency and Debt Reduction In addition to strengthening corporate governance, the transformation of PT Pos Indonesia is also focused on arranging more effective and efficient finances to reduce operational cost burdens. BP BUMN and Danantara encourage management to conduct a thorough evaluation of the income structure, cost components, and the implementation of a more appropriate and sustainable business model. One of the strategies being prepared is the use of synergy between business entities or intercompany to accelerate the reduction of corporate debt and strengthen the financial position of PT Pos Indonesia. This step is expected to increase operational efficiency while creating healthier and sustainable sources of income. Target to Restore Financial Health of PT Pos Indonesia Through a comprehensive improvement program, BP BUMN together with Danantara hopes that PT Pos Indonesia can strengthen the business fundamentals, restore the company's financial health, and increase competitiveness in the midst of changes in the increasingly competitive logistics and shipping services industry. This transformation is also expected to be able to make PT Pos Indonesia grow sustainably and provide greater added value for the country as one of the strategic SOEs.
