Iranian Ambassador Pledges to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation with Cambodia

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met with Iran's Ambassador Akbar Ghasemi Ali Abadi on the morning of September 10, 2026, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh. During the meeting, Ambassador Akbar Ghasemi Ali Abadi affirmed his commitment to further promoting bilateral relations and cooperation with Cambodia. The ambassador highly valued the relationship between the two countries and expressed interest in exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation in several sectors. In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated Mr. Akbar Ghasemi Ali Abadi on his appointment as Iran's Ambassador to Cambodia. The Prime Minister noted the good relations between the two countries and expressed confidence that during the ambassador's tenure, he will contribute to further developing cooperation between the two nations. Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the ambassador's commitment to seeking new opportunities that will further boost bilateral cooperation and encouraged the ambassador to hold further discussions with the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
