Flash floods are a concern, especially in four coastal provinces including Preah Sihanouk. High waves are also expected at sea.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology announced on July 25 that heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds will continue in coastal areas until July 28, due to the influence of Tropical Depression Noul. According to the ministry, the rapidly developing Tropical Depression Noul is strongly affecting the southwest monsoon, impacting weather conditions across the Kingdom of Cambodia from July 25 to 28. Specifically, moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds are expected to persist in the four coastal provinces of Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, and Kep, as well as in mountainous areas such as the Bokor, Kravanh, and Dangrek mountain ranges. This situation increases the likelihood of flash floods. Furthermore, rough seas with wave heights ranging from a minimum average of 0.50 meters to a maximum average of 1.75 meters are anticipated.
