Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark: Nature and Culture Converge in Central Highlands

Nestled in the heart of the Central Highlands, the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark, now part of Lam Dong province, is often described as a vast open-air museum, where outstanding geological, natural and cultural values come together. The geopark is striving for sustainable development by protecting and leveraging its unique landscapes, biodiversity, and the cultural heritage of its local communities. Ecotourism is particularly emphasized, serving as a model for balancing nature conservation with local economic development. Preparations are currently underway for UNESCO revalidation, a critical process to meet international standards and enhance the geopark's value. Dak Nong Geopark has previously received the UNESCO Global Geopark title twice, recognizing its consistent efforts.
