Cambodia: MCC Educates Children on Marine Life to Foster Environmental Awareness

Marine Conservation Cambodia (MCC), a non-governmental organization, is conducting educational programs designed to teach children about marine life and ecosystems, fostering their understanding of nature and a sense of responsibility. The organization emphasized on August 4th the importance of children understanding nature and biodiversity. MCC considers educating Cambodian children and youth about the benefits and value of marine ecosystems, as well as the diverse life within them, as one of its foremost missions. According to MCC, the more deeply children understand the importance of marine life and their natural habitats, the stronger their willingness to protect them and participate in conservation activities will become. The organization stated, 'Through today's demonstrations to educate children about marine ecosystems, we strongly hope they will become future 'ocean guardians,' becoming a youthful force to protect marine life and habitats for subsequent generations.' Furthermore, MCC's educational and awareness activities also provide opportunities to celebrate 'Marine Protected Area Day' and raise discussions on why marine conservation is most important for everyone.
