President Prabowo Inspects New LRT Section Ahead of Inauguration, Boosting Jakarta's Transport Network

President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia inspected a new section of the Jakarta Light Rail Transit (LRT) connecting Kelapa Gading and Manggarai ahead of its official inauguration. The President arrived shortly before 1:00 PM Western Indonesian Time on Wednesday (16/9), entering the venue in his "Maung" vehicle. President Prabowo was welcomed by the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung. The President was seen wearing a khaki shirt paired with a navy blue cap. The inauguration of this new LRT section was originally scheduled for August 26, 2026. However, the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) decided to adjust the schedule to allow for final evaluations and service improvements, ensuring inclusivity for its users. Marulina Dewi, Head of the DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency, had stated that the new inauguration schedule would be announced once the implementation time was set. She emphasized that this change only pertained to the timing of the inauguration and not the overall development agenda for the Jakarta LRT. She confirmed that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, along with PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda), would continue to execute the planned stages related to the development of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai corridor.
