France-Vietnam Ties Fortified by Grassroots Cooperation

The relationship between Vietnam and France is being steadily strengthened not only through major government agreements and official arrangements but also through the contributions accumulated by generations of people from both countries over many years. Dr. Gildas Tréguier, Secretary-General of the France-Vietnam Health Federation (FSFV), pointed out that as Vietnam opens its doors further to the world and enters a new stage of development, the demand for experience sharing and closer cooperation with international partners, including France, is increasing. He explained that the FSFV has been involved in medical cooperation programs in Vietnam for nearly 40 years, and during this long period, bilateral ties have been nurtured through grassroots exchanges and cooperation. Under its one-party system, Vietnam's economic growth necessitates collaboration with the international community. Cooperation with France, which possesses advanced technology and expertise, holds a significant position in Vietnam's development strategy. It is conceivable that this grassroots cooperation will proceed in conjunction with new momentum for cooperation in the energy and technology sectors, as well as efforts to further develop bilateral relations by leveraging the resources of overseas Vietnamese.
