Suspected Ex-Girlfriend Kidnapper in West Bandung is a Repeat Offender

Police have revealed that the suspect in the kidnapping of his ex-girlfriend in West Bandung, Indonesia, M. Reza Satria Adzani (23), is a repeat offender with a prior arrest for theft. This was uncovered during the ongoing police investigation. According to the police, Adzani is a resident of Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra. He was arrested in 2022 for vehicle theft and was shot in the leg for resisting arrest. Police are actively pursuing the suspect, and recent information suggests he may have been hiding in Jakarta. The police are coordinating with law enforcement in the suspect's place of residence to expedite the case. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 12. The victim, Meila Nurpadilah (23), had gone out with her younger sister to buy drinks at a nearby shop. However, Meila did not return home that evening. Her sister testified that they were coerced by Adzani to go to the Bandung City Square (Alun-Alun Kota Bandung), after which Adzani instructed her to return home alone. Meila remains missing. The victim's family has filed a police report, and the suspect is expected to be charged under Article 454 of the Criminal Code.
