New School Building Inaugurated in Kampong Thom Province, Boosting Education Sector
Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, announced the inauguration of a new school building at Chompok Toun Primary School in Santeuk District, Kampong Thom Province. This marks a significant investment in the nation's education sector and efforts to enhance educational quality.
Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, announced the official inauguration of a new school building (comprising 5 classrooms) and other facilities at Chompok Toun Primary School, located in Tang Kransang Commune, Santeuk District, Kampong Thom Province. This new infrastructure is expected to significantly contribute to the education sector by enhancing the quality of the learning environment and fostering the development of human resources. Dr. Chea Serey emphasized that under the leadership of former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the current Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, the education sector has been identified as a top priority for the nation's sustainable development and economic stability. This includes improving teacher capabilities, providing modern learning equipment, and undertaking school construction and renovation projects nationwide to ensure equitable access to quality education for all students. The Governor stated that the new school building stands as a testament to the government's active engagement and contribution to supporting the education sector and human resource development in Cambodia, which forms the bedrock of national social and economic progress. She also acknowledged the profound contributions and dedication of Mr. Chea Chanto, Honorary Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia and former Member of Parliament for Kampong Thom Province. Mr. Chea Chanto had been deeply committed to building numerous achievements for the province's development, striving to provide students with the best possible opportunities to learn and become knowledgeable individuals serving the nation. Dr. Chea Serey encouraged teachers to continuously enhance their teaching methodologies, particularly by integrating technology and introducing foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the curriculum, to prepare children for the evolving modern world. During the ceremony, gifts and financial assistance were distributed to approximately 354 individuals, including teachers, parents, community members, and students. Specifically, the school received 2 million Riel, while 61 individuals comprising officials from the District Office of Education, Youth, and Sports, district administration, commune administration, village chiefs, and teachers each received a sarong and 30,000 Riel. Additionally, 150 parents and community members received a sarong and 20,000 Riel each, and 143 students from grades 4 to 6 were given a kit and 10,000 Riel each. Furthermore, Dr. Chea Serey presided over the handover of three newly built houses to needy families headed by widows residing in Tang Kransang Commune. Food items and cash, generously donated by Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, were also presented as housewarming gifts.
