According to the ministry, 'Dolphin' developed from a low-pressure system in the Western Pacific and will influence the southwest monsoon. Although Cambodia is not directly in the storm's path, its effects are deemed unavoidable. Regionally, plains areas (including Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Poipet, Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng, Kandal, Takeo, and Phnom Penh) have a 40% chance of experiencing rain, gusts, and thunderstorms. Highland areas (such as Kampong Speu, Pailin, Udor Siem, Kratié, and Mondulkiri) face a 50% chance. Coastal areas (including Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kampot, Kep, and the Bokor mountain range) are expected to be most affected, with a 70% probability of heavy rain, gusts, and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong waves ranging from an average of 0.5 to 1.75 meters. The ministry has requested that the public exercise extreme caution regarding these natural phenomena, particularly for those traveling by land and water.
