Cambodian Parliament Speaker Visits Vietnam Military Hospital to Boost Health Cooperation

As part of an official and friendly visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Cambodian National Assembly President Khuon Sodary and her delegation visited the Central Military Hospital 108 in Hanoi on the morning of July 29, 2026. The visit aimed to study and understand the healthcare sector, as well as to promote people-to-people connections in the field of health. Major General Doctor Le huu song, Director of Hospital 108, stated that the Central Military Hospital 108 is a major hospital providing healthcare services to the leadership of the Party, State, and Military of Vietnam, and also treats the general public. The hospital is equipped with specialized doctors and modern medical equipment for treating illnesses. It receives between 2,000 to 2,500 patients daily, totaling approximately 1.2 million patients annually. In addition to treating patients, the large and modern Central Military Hospital 108 also participates in training medical personnel. Hospital 108 also has plans to cooperate with hospitals in Cambodia. President Khuon Sodary expressed her admiration and high appreciation for the hospital's development and its noble mission in providing professional, technically advanced, and humanitarian healthcare services to leaders and the public, saving the lives of all types of patients. President Khuon Sodary emphasized that the visit of the high-level National Assembly delegation to Vietnam on this occasion is an implementation of the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries as a political strategy, to strengthen cooperation among all institutions, ministries, and national and sub-national units of both countries to yield concrete and effective results, serving the interests of the people of both nations. The healthcare sector plays a very important role in connecting people to people. On this occasion, the President also thanked the Party, State, and especially the Vietnamese Army, for sacrificing their lives to liberate the Cambodian people from the death abyss of the Pol Pot genocidal regime on January 7, 1979.
