Cambodia Boosts Digital Transformation with AI Journalism Training

The Cambodia Press Club (CPC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Digital Governance Institute of the Cambodia Digital Technology Academy, has organized a training program for journalists on "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Future of Digital Journalism in Cambodia." The training took place on July 28, 2026, at the Digital Governance Institute, with 153 journalists from 82 media institutions participating. The objective is to enhance journalists' capabilities by strengthening their understanding of AI fundamentals, the AI ecosystem in Cambodia, the risks and challenges associated with AI use, and how to utilize AI ethically and to its maximum benefit. The program focused on improving work efficiency in areas such as content creation, article writing, content editing, and the generation of images, audio, and short videos. This is expected to lead to richer and faster information content production. Participants also learned to use AI for data searching and analysis, and to identify fake news and deepfakes. The initiative aims to respond to rapid technological advancements and contribute to building human capital in the digital journalism sector, in line with the vision of the "Cambodia Digital Government Policy 2022-2035."
