Trailer and fuel tanker collide near Shwebo Lay junction in Taungoo, fuel tanker catches fire

It is reported that a collision occurred between a trailer and a fuel tanker on the Yangon-Mandalay Road near Shwebo Lay junction in Ward 9, Taungoo Township, Bago Region, at approximately 6:00 AM on September 1st, resulting in the fuel tanker catching fire. The incident involved a Nissan orange trailer (trailer number TLR 9294) with vehicle number 1K/----, which was traveling from Mandalay towards Yangon on the old Yangon-Mandalay road in Taungoo Township, and a Dongfeng white fuel tanker (rear trailer number 3 TLR 1888) with vehicle number MDY 14, 1T/----, which was traveling from Yangon towards Mandalay. The two vehicles collided as they reached near Shwebo Lay junction in Ward 9, Taungoo Township. The two vehicles collided in the curve, with the rear of the trailer hitting the middle section of the fuel tanker's body. Due to the collision, the 1K/----- trailer overturned on the road, and the fuel tanker caught fire. Following the outbreak of the fire, relevant authorities, firefighters from the Township Fire Services Department, and volunteer organizations from the city have joined forces to carry out firefighting operations. As of approximately 7:30 AM, the fuel tanker was still burning. Since it was carrying fuel, there was a risk of explosion, so the fire brigade and rescue teams were conducting firefighting operations from a distance without getting too close to the vehicle, according to a volunteer official assisting in extinguishing the fire.
