Vietnam-Russia Scientific Ties Strengthened Over 40 Years, Tropical Center Contributes to Health Protection

Scientific and technological cooperation has been a highlight in Vietnam–Russia relations, nurtured through nearly four decades of operation by the Joint Vietnam–Russia Tropical Science and Technology Research Centre (V-R Tropical Centre). This collaboration has yielded substantive contributions. Recently, Russia's support in building and equipping a laboratory for disease prevention and control at the V-R Tropical Centre further demonstrates the effectiveness of this special cooperation model between the two countries. This initiative makes practical contributions to protecting human health in Vietnam, particularly in disease control. Vietnam, while pursuing economic growth under its socialist-oriented market economy, has positioned scientific and technological development as a crucial part of its national strategy.
