Cambodia Hosts ASEAN Public Service Ministers' Meeting, Affirming Professional Cooperation and Solidarity

On the morning of August 5, 2026, the opening ceremony of the 23rd ASEAN Conference on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM) and the 8th ACCSM+3 was held at the Sokha Siem Reap Hotel, presided over by H.E. Dr. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The event was attended by H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service, Ministers of Civil Service from ASEAN and ASEAN+3 countries, H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, and numerous distinguished national and international guests. In his welcoming remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many highlighted the fruitful outcomes of the two-day Senior Officials Meeting, where delegates collectively reviewed joint achievements and exchanged best practices and experiences to guide the future of the civil service sector. The entire assembly strongly affirmed their shared commitment towards innovation, excellence, and enhancing the quality of public service delivery. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the ACCSM mechanism is actively contributing to building an ASEAN Community that is resilient, innovative, and inclusive, with the people at its core. By strengthening the capacity, professionalism, and agility of civil servants, ASEAN can deliver high-quality public services to its citizens. Furthermore, H.E. Hun Many stated, "ACCSM not only strengthens professional cooperation but also enhances friendship, trust, solidarity, and partnership, which are the heart of the entire ASEAN Community." Beyond the regional framework, Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many added that ACCSM+3 cooperation has further deepened strategic partnerships with the People's Republic of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea. The exchange of experiences with these partner countries is a crucial driving force in promoting public service innovation to effectively address the actual needs of the people.
