Cambodia Hosts ASEAN Public Service Meeting, Strengthening 'People-Centric' Service Delivery Cooperation

Cambodia successfully hosted the 23rd ASEAN Cooperation Committee on Public Service (ACCSM) and the 8th ACCSM+3 meeting in Siem Reap on August 5, 2026. Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia received a delegation of ASEAN public service leaders, led by H.E. Dr. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, Head of the National Public Service Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. During the meeting, the delegation leader expressed congratulations and admiration for the Cambodian government's excellent hosting of the 23rd ACCSM and the 8th ACCSM+3 meetings. He highly praised Cambodia for selecting the theme 'Innovation for Better Public Service Delivery,' which reflects ASEAN's collective commitment to sharing best practices for building responsive, efficient, and people-centric public services across the region. The delegation leader also emphasized readiness to continue close cooperation with Cambodia and other ASEAN member states for the benefit of the region's people. In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed and thanked the delegation for their participation in this significant meeting, viewing their presence as a reflection of ASEAN member states' will and commitment to connect and enhance the ASEAN public service sector. He also reiterated the importance of the development of the public service sector and Cambodia's public service reform process, focusing on institutional strengthening and innovation to meet citizens' demands for public services. The Prime Minister highlighted that this reform aims to enhance accountability and transparency, as well as integrate technology to reduce complex procedures and bureaucracy in public service delivery. Before concluding, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed strong confidence that the meeting would conclude with fruitful outcomes through the sharing of best practices and the strengthening of cooperation in the public service sector among ASEAN and ASEAN+3 member countries.
