Cambodia Hosts ASEAN Public Service Meeting, Pledging People-Centric Service Delivery
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet lauded the successful hosting of the 23rd ASEAN Conference on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM) and the 8th ACCSM+3 in Siem Reap. Themed 'Innovation for Better Public Service Delivery,' the meeting reinforced cooperation towards building people-centric, prompt, and efficient public services across the region.
On the morning of August 5, 2026, in Siem Reap, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, received a delegation of ASEAN public service leaders, headed by H.E. Dr. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, Head of the National Public Service Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. During the meeting, the delegation leader expressed congratulations and praise for the Cambodian government's successful hosting of the 23rd ASEAN Conference on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM) and the 8th ACCSM+3 Conference. He highly commended Cambodia for choosing the theme 'Innovation for Better Public Service Delivery,' which reflects ASEAN's collective commitment to sharing best practices to build a responsive, efficient, and people-centric public service across the ASEAN region. The delegation leader also affirmed readiness to continue close cooperation with Cambodia and other ASEAN member states for the benefit of the region's peoples. In response, Samdech Thipadei welcomed and thanked the delegation leader and the ASEAN and ASEAN+3 delegations for participating in this significant public service conference, viewing their presence as a reflection of the commitment and determination of ASEAN member states to connect and enhance the ASEAN public service sector. He also recalled the importance of the development of the public service sector and the process of public service reform in Cambodia, focusing on strengthening institutions and innovation to meet the public's needs for services. Samdech Thipadei emphasized that this reform aims to enhance accountability and transparency, as well as integrate technology to reduce complex procedures and bureaucracy in the public service delivery process. Before concluding, Samdech Thipadei expressed strong confidence that the aforementioned conference will conclude with fruitful outcomes through the sharing of best practices and the strengthening of cooperation in the public service sector among ASEAN and ASEAN+3 member countries.
