The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and the Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committees registered a total of 37 investment projects with a combined investment capital of approximately US$233 million in August 2026, according to a CDC press release. The projects are expected to create approximately 23,000 jobs for Cambodian people. Of the total, 27 investment projects were registered by the CDC, with total investment capital of approximately US$198 million and the potential to create around 17,000 jobs. Meanwhile, the Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committees registered 10 projects with total investment capital of approximately US$35 million, which are expected to generate around 6,000 jobs. By sector, investment capital was allocated mainly to industry, amounting to approximately US$209 million, while agriculture and agro-industry accounted for approximately US$24 million. China ranked first among the sources of investment, accounting for 44.02 percent of the total investment capital, followed by Cambodia with 39.13 percent and Singapore with 10.38 percent. The CDC noted that during the first eight months of 2026, Cambodia continued to attract quality investment projects, particularly in infrastructure and tourism, where investment capital has increased, while industry remained the leading sector in attracting investment. This trend reflects the continued positive and resilient investment climate in Cambodia, as well as investors’ confidence in the Royal Government’s efforts to further promote business and investment activities.
