Cambodia Provides Vocational Training, Equipment, and Funds to Children of Fallen Soldiers to Foster Entrepreneurship

Phnom Penh, Cambodia - September 7, 2026 Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, along with his wife, representing His Excellency Prime Minister Hun Manet and Her Excellency Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, visited and offered condolences to students from families of fallen soldiers in Kampot province on Monday morning, September 7, 2026. They presented a coffee grinder set, a beauty salon service equipment set, and a sum of 6 million riels (approximately $1500) to each individual, as generous gifts from the Prime Minister and Dr. Pich Chanmony. This handover ceremony took place after the students from families of fallen soldiers completed a 6-month vocational technical training at the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (NIEI) in barista and baking, as well as beauty salon services. During their training, they also received accommodation and a monthly stipend of 1 million riels (approximately $250). The provision of funds, coffee grinders, and beauty service equipment is intended to help these young individuals, who are from families of fallen soldiers, to start their own businesses using the skills acquired through the TVET program, thereby generating income to support their families. Minister Heng Sour conveyed the heartfelt regards and well-wishes from His Excellency former Prime Minister Hun Sen and Her Excellency Madam Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as from Prime Minister Hun Manet and Her Excellency Dr. Pich Chanmony. He emphasized that the former Prime Minister and his wife have always paid close attention to the well-being and living conditions of the families of fallen soldiers and soldiers on the front lines.
