Cambodia Provides Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship Support to Youth from Fallen Soldier Families

Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, H.E. Heng Sour, along with a representative of the high-level delegation of H.E. Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, wife of Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia H.E. Dr. Hun Manet, visited and provided support to students from fallen soldier families in Kampot province on the morning of Monday, September 7, 2026. The support included a coffee grinding machine set, a salon service equipment set, and a financial contribution of 6 million Riel (approximately $1,500 USD) per individual, as generous gifts from Prime Minister Hun Manet and his wife. This handover ceremony took place after the students from fallen soldier families successfully completed their Level 1 (C1) technical and vocational training in barista and baking, as well as beauty service skills, at the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (NIEI) over a period of six months. During their training, they were provided with accommodation and a monthly stipend of 1 million Riel (approximately $250 USD). The provision of financial aid, coffee grinding machines, and beauty salon equipment is intended to empower these young individuals to establish their own businesses and generate income to support their families, utilizing the skills acquired through the TVET program. H.E. Heng Sour conveyed the deep regards and well wishes from former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as from Prime Minister Hun Manet and Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet. He emphasized that the Prime Ministers consistently pay close attention to the well-being and livelihoods of the families of fallen soldiers and soldiers on the front lines.
