Citilink Cancels Flights Due to Anak Krakatau Volcanic Ash

Citilink has canceled all flights to and from Jakarta, Bandung, and Lampung until Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 07:00 WIB, citing the spread of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau. The cancellations are in response to the temporary closure of several airports in these cities due to the ash cloud. The affected airports include Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta, Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, and Radin Inten II Airport in Lampung. Tashia Scholz, Corporate Secretary & CSR Group Head of Citilink, stated that flights scheduled after 07:00 WIB on September 8 will be gradually resumed once each airport is declared operational. However, the resumption is contingent on the evolving conditions, regulatory directives, and the paramount importance of flight safety and security. For passengers impacted by the cancellations, Citilink is offering options for flight schedule changes or rescheduling without additional charges, as well as full refunds according to applicable terms. Passengers are advised to monitor flight statuses via the Citilink website, application, or contact center. Citilink has apologized for the inconvenience caused and assured that it is coordinating with aviation authorities and stakeholders to ensure a safe resumption of operations. The airline is committed to providing the best possible service during this adjustment period.
