President Prabowo Inspects Luxury Train 'Nusantara Explorer', Expresses Hope for Tourism Boost

President Prabowo Subianto participated in the trial run of the nation's first luxury sleeper train, the 'Nusantara Explorer,' from Semarang Tawang Station to Batang in Central Java. After inaugurating the first phase of the renovated Tawang Station, Prabowo walked to the platform to board the Nusantara Explorer. He also greeted the media present. He mentioned that this was his first experience riding the Nusantara Explorer. "This is the first time. This is my first time wanting to ride," said Prabowo. Prabowo even jokingly told the media personnel to pay if they wanted to join the ride on the Nusantara Explorer. "Please. Please do. But you have to pay, okay. Come on," Prabowo joked. In his speech, Prabowo stated that the Nusantara Explorer is intended to support Indonesian tourism. He mentioned that the tourism sector is one of the important sectors in Indonesia and asked all his staff to ensure that Indonesian railways develop rapidly. Prabowo targeted that after this, the government will continue the Trans-Sumatra Railway project. "After Trans-Sumatra, then Trans-Kalimantan, if possible, we will start them simultaneously," he said. Through an Instagram post, KAI conveyed that The Nusantara Explorer is the result of development and modification by KAI workers, with the process centered at the Balai Yasa Surabaya Gubeng workshop. The concept of sleeper cabins in this train will be divided into three categories: Signature Class, Advanced Class, and Compact Class. KAI explained that The Nusantara Explorer was developed as a Luxury Sleeper Train that combines private resting spaces, culinary experiences, entertainment, and the experience of enjoying the journey's landscapes. The Nusantara Explorer is also designed to have a Grand Restaurant and Lounge. "With a concept of comfortable seating, a bar, entertainment facilities, a piano, an audio system, as well as windows to enjoy the scenery during the journey," KAI wrote. President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia, Bobby Rasyidin, stated that the presence of this train is to provide an increasingly better travel experience for customers. "The Nusantara Explorer demonstrates the capability of KAI personnel in developing rolling stock through competencies continuously built at Balai Yasa Surabaya Gubeng," said Bobby.
