Major Drug Trafficking Ring Busted in Northern Thailand, Over 1 Ton of Meth Seized

Northern Thai police have announced the successful bust of a major drug trafficking ring. The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 1,000 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (ice) and about 1.78 million meth pills (ya ba). According to the announcement, the busted organization is suggested to be part of a network connected to the 'Wa Tai' and 'Jaro Bo' factions of the United Wa State Army (UWSA), an ethnic armed group based in northeastern Myanmar.
