Cambodia Discusses Progress of Investment in Automotive Wiring Harness Manufacturing Sector
The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) held a meeting to discuss the progress of investment in the automotive wiring harness manufacturing sector. Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol emphasized the sector's importance in transforming Cambodia's industrial structure and affirmed the government's continued support.
On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) convened a working meeting led by Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice-Chairman of the CDC, Sun Chanthol, to discuss the "Progress of Investment in the Automotive Wiring Harness Manufacturing Sector in Cambodia." The meeting was attended by CDC leadership, representatives from relevant ministries and government institutions, senior executives from automotive wiring harness manufacturing companies operating in Cambodia, and numerous relevant experts. The meeting proceeded smoothly, focusing on key agenda items and strategic objectives, including: 1. Reviewing the overall progress of the automotive wiring harness manufacturing sector in Cambodia. 2. A summary report from each company on the current status of their production activities and general business operations. 3. The presentation of opinions and requests by each company's representative, aimed at enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of business operations in this sector. The entire assembly listened attentively and engaged in in-depth discussions and exchange of views between representatives of ministries, state institutions, and the private sector, aiming to identify joint mechanisms that respond to needs in a timely manner. In his capacity as a representative of the Cambodian government, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol reaffirmed the government's strong commitment to continuously support and facilitate all relevant parties to ensure that investments in automotive wiring harness manufacturing maintain ongoing progress, and to further enhance the favorable environment for promoting and encouraging additional investment in the future. He also highlighted the importance of this sector in actively contributing to the transformation of Cambodia's industrial structure from labor-intensive to one based on expertise and modern technology. Concurrently, the Deputy Prime Minister advised all relevant parties to continue working closely with the private sector in monitoring and responding to all requests raised during the meeting in a timely and highly effective manner, in order to increase Cambodia's competitiveness regionally and globally. As a result, representatives of all automotive wiring harness manufacturing companies expressed their profound gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister, CDC leadership, and all relevant ministries and institutions for opening a direct discussion forum characterized by closeness and a high spirit of cooperation. The meeting concluded in a friendly atmosphere, with a shared commitment between the public and private sectors to enhance closer cooperation, with the aim of strengthening confidence in Cambodia's investment climate, promoting national economic growth, and achieving sustainable and inclusive development.
