Cambodia Awards Over 1,000 Vocational Training Scholarships to Youth from Poor and Vulnerable Families

The National Institute of Business (NIB) of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has announced the provision of 1,035 scholarship opportunities in 10 specialized fields for youth from poor and vulnerable families. These opportunities are supported by the government through the "1.5 Million TVET Program," with eligible recipients also receiving monthly stipends. According to NIB, the 10 specialized fields include Computer Graphic Design, Computer Services, Administrative Services, Customer Services, Installation and Implementation of Digital Technology, Installation and Maintenance of Computer Networks, Business Creation and Entrepreneurship, Online Sales Services, Confectionery Production, and Beverage Business. To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must be at least 15 years old and possess a Khmer identification card or birth certificate. Furthermore, trainees who present a poverty card (Level 1 or Level 2) or a certificate identifying them as from a vulnerable family will receive an additional monthly allowance. The institute plans to commence training courses at the beginning of August and has opened registration from the date of this announcement.
