Cambodia Earns US$1.75 Billion from Raw Cashew Nut Export in H1

AKP Phnom Penh, July 23, 2026 -- Cambodia exported approximately 1.03 million metric tonnes of raw cashew nuts in the first half of 2026, generating around US$1.75 billion in export revenue, according to the latest report from the Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) released on July 23. The data shows that the export, mainly to Vietnam, increased by 28 percent compared to the same period in 2025. Cambodia's raw cashew nut export continued to grow strongly during the first six months of 2026, despite the global cashew market facing tightening supplies, shifting replacement costs and increasing calls for producing countries to expand domestic processing. CAC President Mr. Silot Uon said Cambodia remains one of the world's leading suppliers of raw cashew nuts, particularly to Vietnam's processing industry, but continues to process only a relatively small share of its production domestically. “While Cambodia remains a leading supplier of raw cashew nuts, increasing domestic processing will be essential to capture greater value, create more employment and strengthen the country's competitiveness in the global cashew industry,” he said. The CAC said producing countries that invest in local processing and value addition will be better positioned to benefit from long-term growth and changing market dynamics as competition in the global cashew market intensifies.
