Cambodia and Philippines Boost Agricultural Trade, Focusing on Rice, Cashews, and Livestock

Cambodia and the Philippines have jointly organized a new business forum aimed at boosting agricultural trade between the two nations. On July 21, 2026, Cambodia's Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Dith Tina, and the Philippines' Secretary of Agriculture, Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr., co-hosted the "Cambodia-Philippines Agricultural Sector Government-Private Sector Business Networking Forum." The forum's objective is to expand agricultural trade, meet market demands, and ensure food security for both countries. Approximately 33 private companies from Cambodia and the Philippines participated in the forum. Discussions centered on the potential for increased rice exports from Cambodia to the Philippines. Other potential Cambodian agricultural products, such as cashews and livestock products, were also explored for the Philippine market. Furthermore, cooperation on fertilizer supply was discussed to ensure the sustainability of agricultural inputs for both nations. This initiative represents a new achievement in cooperation between Cambodia and the Philippines, expected to provide economic benefits to Cambodian farmers by opening up markets for Cambodian rice and other potential agricultural products.
