India-Cambodia B2B Meet Aims to Boost Tech Ties, Digital Transformation

Representatives from India's electronics, software, and information technology industries met with their Cambodian counterparts in Phnom Penh on July 30, marking a significant step towards fostering closer business-to-business (B2B) links between the two nations. The B2B interaction, organized by the Embassy of India in Phnom Penh in collaboration with the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), described by the embassy as India’s apex trade promotion organisation for Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Software and IT-enabled Services, saw a business delegation from nine leading Indian technology companies engage with Cambodian government officials, business associations, financial institutions, technology firms, and startups, from both India and Cambodia. The delegation's visit to the Kingdom aims to explore business and investment opportunities, establish partnerships with Cambodian stakeholders, and contribute to Cambodia's ongoing digital transformation journey. Among the sectors represented were AI, fintech, cyber-security, gaming, smart agriculture and drones. Both software and hardware solutions on the agenda. Indian Ambassador Vanlalvawna Bawitlung encouraged businesses from both nations to identify new avenues for collaboration in innovation, digital capacity building and investment. He emphasized that closer cooperation between them would further strengthen bilateral economic ties while supporting Cambodia’s digital transformation and sustainable economic development. Gurmeet Singh, ESC CEO & Executive Director, described the meeting as the beginning of a shared journey toward a digital future where India and Cambodia stand as partners in innovation and progress. He noted that the Indian saw Cambodia not only as a market, but as a collaborator in building a knowledge‑driven economy that empowers people, strengthens institutions and creates sustainable prosperity. “Together, we can transform ideas into impact, and partnerships into legacies — ensuring that technology becomes a bridge of opportunity for generations to come,” he said. He highlighted how India’s vibrant technology ecosystem, highly skilled workforce and globally competitive IT industry has positioned it as one of the world’s foremost digital economies and a trusted technology partner for countries across the globe. The one day business interaction provided an excellent platform for fostering business networking, technology transfer, knowledge exchange and commercial partnerships between Indian and Cambodian companies. The convergence of India's advanced technological capabilities with Cambodia's developing market signals potential for new impetus in economic growth within the context of Cambodia's digitalization drive.
