Vietnam can share development experience through BRICS: Indian professor

An Indian professor has stated that Vietnam is a country with significant potential to contribute to the development of BRICS. Over the past year, Vietnam has emerged as an increasingly important economy and a notable manufacturing hub, particularly in sectors such as textiles and garments, and electronics. The professor emphasized that Vietnam could share its development experiences through the BRICS framework. This suggests that Vietnam's insights from its years of economic growth and structural reforms could be beneficial to other BRICS member countries. Furthermore, the professor touched upon the strengthening of relations between Vietnam and India. In recent years, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations has deepened after a decade of growth, with bilateral trade expected to surpass US$10 billion in the first half of 2026. Such advancements in their relationship are considered to further enhance Vietnam's engagement with the international community. Participation or cooperation within BRICS could offer Vietnam new opportunities to expand its role on the international stage and share its economic development experiences. This is also noteworthy from the perspective of how Vietnam's economic growth model under its one-party system can be evaluated and applied in an international context.
