Singaporean Woman Clarifies Cambodia Visit: Voluntary, Not Linked to Scams

A 20-year-old Singaporean woman, Aisha, has publicly clarified that her travel to Cambodia was voluntary and has no connection to online scams or human trafficking. She issued this statement to international media and to address negative narratives circulating about her situation in Cambodia. Aisha explained that she was facing significant financial hardship in Singapore and was seeking a new path for her life. Consequently, on July 20, she made the decision to travel to Cambodia of her own volition to work as an English teacher. "The decision to leave my family in Singapore and come to Cambodia was entirely my own. I was not forced by anyone, nor was I deceived into coming here. This decision was based entirely on my own will, consideration, and choice," Aisha stated. She further emphasized that she has not been involved in, nor forced to participate in, any scam activities, criminal acts, or illegal deeds. This statement comes after her family reported her disappearance to authorities, media, and social networks. Aisha aims to accurately convey her circumstances and dispel any misconceptions about her experience in Cambodia.
