Tropical Depression Dolphin Continues to Affect Cambodia, Bringing Rain, Thunderstorms, and Gusty Winds

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology announced on the morning of August 3, 2026, that Tropical Depression 'Dolphin' (T2613) continues to influence the southwest monsoon, affecting the Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea, South China Sea, Mekong River basin, Cambodian Sea, and the Kingdom of Cambodia. However, the Kingdom of Cambodia is not directly in the path of Tropical Depression Dolphin. The ministry stated that this situation will cause some areas in the Kingdom of Cambodia to be affected for three days, from August 3rd to August 5th, 2026. The affected areas include: 1. Lowland areas: Minimum average temperature 25°C, maximum average temperature 36°C. Winds blowing from the southwest and west at an average speed of 3 meters per second. Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Tbong Khmum, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Takeo, Kandal, and Phnom Penh capital may experience rain mixed with thunderstorms and gusty winds covering 50% of the land area. 2. Highland areas: Minimum average temperature 24°C, maximum average temperature 35°C. Winds blowing from the southwest and west at an average speed of 4 meters per second. Kampong Speu, Pailin, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, the Dangrek mountain range, and the Cardamom mountain areas may experience rain mixed with thunderstorms and gusty winds covering 30% of the land area. 3. Coastal areas: Minimum average temperature 25°C, maximum average temperature 35°C. Winds blowing from the southwest and southeast at an average speed of 2 meters per second. Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep, and the Bokor mountain range may experience rain mixed with thunderstorms and gusty winds covering 40% of the land area.
